This mod was started out of an observation that there are a ton of mods that add books. Some of them, like Mystcraft, add a giant mess of books, and it’s a bit hard to store them ALL in chests thanks to their placement restrictions. This man decided to make a mod to store all of these books in more visually appealing ways. This mod adds in a bunch of ways to store all kinds of items that look really cool. The first is the bookshelf, which holds any books aside the basic Book. It holds maps as well. A note about the recipes is that all wood is interchangeable with all vanilla wood.
Recipe for the book case:
Cheaper than the vanilla book shelf and it actually does something. I like the sound of that. The next item is the armor stand, which does exactly what it says. Recipe:
It has four slots for armor, and shows your armor slots on the right side of its interface. The next item we’ll be talking about is the display case. This item holds up to a stack of any single item. They can be placed on the wall or the floor. You have to shift+right click to open the door, then it can be right clicked with an item to place it in, or with an empty hand to open its GUI. The door MUST be open to be able to place items into it. The recipe can use any vanilla wood, along with Red, Green, Blue, and Black wool. Recipe:
He also added in a potion storage block, which can hold up to twelve potions. It has three shelves, each one can hold four potions. Shift+right clicking on a shelf which has potions will pull the one farthest to the right of the row you were aiming at. You can also right click with an empty hand to pull up the GUI. Recipe:
The tool rack is like a potion shelf for tools. It will hold up to four tools, and the controls are the same as with just about every block. Can be made with all types of vanilla planks. Recipe:
The Wooden Shelf will hold any item you put on it. It can be made with any vanilla woods and holds up to four stacks of any item.
The Wooden Label is one of my favorite items in the mod. You place it on a chest, and then shift+right click to access its GUI. You can place three items into it to label your chests. Much more efficient and better looking than an item frame. Recipe:
The Desk is the first item I noticed from this mod. I was playing around with another mod (Mystcraft) and typed in Desk, and found this item. It holds up to nine books, and looks pretty cool when it’s full. As with everything else, it can be made with any vanilla wood. Recipe:
The last item in this mod is the Tape Measure. It’s a two part recipe, and I’ll just tell you the recipe. You put eight string around a Dandelion Yellow to get the tape reel, then you put four iron on the edges of it to get the tape measure. You right click on one block, then on another, and you get how far they are from each other. This is immensely useful for those of us who get distracted easily when counting to fifty, or like to double check our measurements.
That’s all there is to this mod. It’s a pretty simple idea, but it can make some pretty cool looking builds, which is what minecraft’s all about, right?
I hope you guys have fun with this mod, I sure did. It’s also worth noting that you can mess with what items each storage unit takes in the config file for this mod (.minecraft\config).
