Simplistic mods can often stand out above others, simply because the feature in which they implement has either been long awaited, or is simply a great and unique idea. Usually these types of mods introduce one or two features in which are also usually, similar to each other both function and feature wise. The Flash Light mod for Minecraft 1.5.1, implements a very simplistic, yet very well developed feature into the game, that I believe; has been long awaited by not only me, but a great many other users of Minecraft also. Exploring caves, or roaming the night can often become a very large burden, brightness levels can vary on the type of computer, or screen the user is using. Not to mention the setting in which he/she is using at that particular time. However, in any case, travelling with little or no light can be a large burden. Sometimes a player can leave without, or run out of their supply of torches. The temptation can sometimes pull a player away from their task to return home and create some more. Although, if there was an easier way to emit light when travelling in dark places, would you take it?
The Flash Light mod, developed by Jkush321; allows the user to craft, and activate a very unique type of item in which allows the ability of portable light emitting. Once the flash light has been crafted (Crafting recipe below) the player can simply scroll their mouse wheel until the selection square is over the torch item, and then right click to activate/deactivate the light. Once activated, the flash light will emit light around the players character, and does not need to hold the flash light for the light to continue emitting, allowing the player to continue with jobs such as mining or exploring.
