Mods are developed to serve as an entertainment enhancer, the reason being because they often will introduce new, unique features or game functions in which a player/user can use after the installation process has been completed first. The Highlands mod, above all other mods listed today stand out significantly. The new, detailed and incredibly entertaining features implement a new kind of unique gameplay to the game of Minecraft. By Taking the ordinary exploration experience of Minecraft, and adding new features and functions in which will enhance simplicity of it all is amazing, and not only does it work professionally, but also casually for players to use easily. The Highlands mod, developed by Sdj64, adds to amazing features into the games, including new terrain, natural features and 32 new biomes in which a player can explore easily and naturally.

The mod is extremely easy to use; partially being its installation is the most difficult part of the entire process. When exploring old and new worlds, the player will be able to locate and identify new and unique biomes such as:
- Mountain ranges
- Badlands (Wastelands)
- Outback (desert)
- Tropics, tropical islands
Including a whole lot more, as well as 12 new tree types, village locations in new biomes and customisation options that a player can use to his/her advantage! Not only does this mod just add these features into the game, it brings a new sense of adventure and encourages the player/user to leave the comfort of their home or settlement, and explore the new world that awaits them. However, the developer of the Highlands mod has clearly taken into consideration the mind set of players and users, and has carefully implemented all of the features without introducing new blocks or textures into the game. Colour change is apparent in the mod itself; however leaves and wood blocks are easily associated with the Default Textures of the game.
