The Mining Mod for Minecraft 1.4.7

Mining is an essential part of the game Minecraft, as seen in its name! So why not add more mining option and uses. The Mining Mod is a mining mod, as its name indicates. The Mining Mod adds a whole bunch of new ores and minerals as well as more uses for the ones that are already in-game. The Mining Mod adds a whole new selection of tools for you to choose from. Including the ones that lasts longer but mines slower, and vice versa.

The Mining Mod

Some of the new ores or minerals include:

  • Crystal
  • Sapphire
  • Ruby
  • Silver (needed to make steel)
  • Steel
New Armors:
  • Emerald
  • Ruby (tied with sapphire)
  • Sapphire (tied with ruby)
  • Steel
  • Crystal
*listed from the best to worst armor

New Tools’ Uses and Speeds:

  • Obsidian tools  - 1250 uses ; 7
  • Redstone tools – 150 uses ; 10
  • Lapis tools – 200 uses ; 5
  • Flint tools – 140 uses ; 6
  • Crystal tools – 225 uses ; 9
  • Sapphire tools – 750 uses ; 10
  • Ruby tools – 750 uses ; 10
  • Steel tools – 500 uses ; 8
  • Emerald tools – 800 uses ; 13

To put into comparison, here are the default tools’ uses

| Wood – 32 uses ; 2 | Stone – 131 uses ; 4 | Iron – 250 uses ; 6 | Gold – 32 uses ; 12 | Diamond – 1561 uses ; 8 |

Extra Crafting Recipe:

  • Place coal and crystal into bench to make steel ingot
  • Craft redstone block with 9 redstone dust
  • Use redstone block to make the redstone pick

How to Download The Mining Mod for Minecraft 1.4.7

  1. Download Minecraft Forge API
  2. Run %appdata%
  3. Open minecraft.jar located in .minecraft / bin
  4. Open minecraft.jar with winzip, winrar, 7zip, or a similar archiver
  5. Delete META-inf
  6. Download The Mining Mod
  7. Drag files from the mining mod into minecraft.jar

*The Mining Mod does work for SMP
