One of the single most epic things added in the beta 1.8.8, 1.7.10 and 1.7.2 update to minecraft, has to be villages. They’re even better now that they spawn iron golems and you can trade with the villagers. These villages are awesome; but really hard to find. They’re extremely rare; so rare, don’t you wish you had something to help you find them? The Village Info mod by trunkz just does that.
The Village Info mod will do many helpful things. Firstly, it’ll scan for the nearest village (or tell you that you’re in one). It’ll either say “Inside Village”, or tell you how far away you are from one, eg: “32m away”. This is probably the best feature of the mod. A great way to find villages. Secondly, it’ll tell you how large the village is. So; the radius and the center. It’ll also tell you how much houses are in it, how much villagers are residing in it, how much Iron Golems (if any), and even how many spaces there are for new villagers.
A simple, yet very effective mod. Even if you think it’s a cheating mod; it can be helpful if you’re a commentator wanting to do a demonstration, or even just testing something out yourself. Definitely a mod that will be very useful in the future; for me and others.
