The Witchery Mod for Minecraft is one of the more in depth, and exceptionally well made mods in which introduces a more serious take on common magic. Avoiding Minecrafts more sandbox, light hearted theme, the mod implements a huge variety of world spawns, items, magics, effects and strategies in which these magics can be combined to create a multitude of products. Unlike other magic mods, the Witchery Mod introduces concoctions and other magics that would be more commonly found in a witches tale rather than those of a wizards. For example, although voodoo dolls and potions are a large part of the mod, other methods of magical excersize can be performed in which can help you through battle, strengthen you and many other things. Overall, Witchery is fantastic, and adds an amazing new feature in which can be both explored by players and used. The way magic can be used with the mod is so expansive, and everyone has their own methods after understanding the basics- leaving it up to the individual to enjoy in his or her way.
The Witchery Mod for Minecraft 1.8.9, 1.7.10 and 1.7.2 Usage
There are multiple categories to the Witchery mod, including Witchery, Poppets, Dream Weaving, Circle Magic, Brewing, Infusion, Familiars and Fetishes. Each category of magic does its own thing and often comes with it’s own custom crafting recipes and materials. Of course, these magics also have different methods and purposes, as well as setups. For example, Circle Magic is different to Brewing as Circle Magic requires a specific setup, including the use of new materials, blocks and items such as an altar to grant the player specific effects, whereas brewing has simply expanded from the vanilla version, and more available potions can be brewed through the usage of the new brewing blocks, items and through using new ingredients.
The Witchery Mod also introduces a new world to the game of Minecraft. The Spirit World. This world is a world of pure magic which can be entered using different methods. One of those methods is by eating a sleeping apple. This will always take you into the spirit world, but into a nightmare. If you enter the spirit world using the normal methods, requiring a specific setup, you still have a chance to enter a nightmare, but if all goes well, you can enter in a dream state. Nightmares will result in the world being dark, and the player will be chased and hunted by a hostile horror. You can reduce the risk of having a nightmare by having a Dreamweaver of nightmares beside ones bed. Remember, going to sleep will also take you into this world. Once you enter the world, most of the players gear will not be equipped, this is fine. Once you wake up, or return, you’ll find your gear on you as normal. Using magical items, or dying in this world will wake up the player. Even as well as this, new mobs, both hostile and passive have been introduced to Minecraft in the Witchery mod and can be found in all the newly added worlds.
